Use KidsLearnCash with your AI assistant

Connect KidsLearnCash to Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant that supports MCP connectors. Ask how your kids are doing, record allowance and spending, and approve chores — in plain words, with the permissions you choose.

It keeps the records; it never moves money. KidsLearnCash is a ledger for money you manage yourself — cash, a piggy bank, your own account. The connector reads and adds records. It can't send, receive or hold real money.

Things to ask

"How much does each of my kids have, and how close are they to their goals?" "What chores are waiting for my approval? Approve Maya's 'Make bed'." "Record $10 birthday money for Leo from Grandma." "Maya spent $12.50 on a book today — record it." "How much did the kids spend on games this month?" "Add a 'Rake the leaves' chore for Leo worth $3." "Add this to Maya's wishlist: https://…"

What it can and can't do

Permission you approveWhat the assistant can do
See family money (always included)Read each kid's balance and totals, activity history, chores, savings goals and monthly summaries
Record moneyAdd a deposit or a purchase for one kid
Manage choresAdd a chore, mark one done, and approve one — which adds its reward to the kid's balance
Add to wishlistsAdd a product link, name and price to one kid's wishlist

It can't delete anything, edit or undo money already recorded, see or change PINs, invite people, see email addresses or payment details, or change your settings. Every change it makes is added once, even if it retries, and shows in your activity marked “AI”.

Chores on set days (like “Mon, Wed, Fri”) aren't available to assistants yet: approve those in the app. Only a parent's account can connect an assistant; kids' and relatives' accounts can't.

How to connect

  1. In your assistant, add a connector (sometimes called an app or custom connector) with this address:
    https://kidslearncash.com/mcp
  2. Sign in with your KidsLearnCash parent account when asked.
  3. Check the website shown on the approval page: it should be your assistant's own, such as claude.ai or chatgpt.com. Any app can call itself “Claude”, so KidsLearnCash warns you when it doesn't recognize the website.
  4. Choose what it may do. Seeing family money is always included; untick recording money, managing chores or adding to wishlists if you'd rather it only looked. Then allow access.

Most assistants ask you to confirm before each change. Look at what it's about to record before you say yes.

You can see and disconnect your assistants any time in KidsLearnCash under Settings → Connected AI. Disconnecting stops access immediately.

Privacy

What the assistant reads is sent to the assistant you connected, and its provider's privacy policy covers what happens next. KidsLearnCash stores the connection (which assistant, what you allowed, when it was last used), connection keys only in a protected, unreadable form, and a private record of each change an assistant makes. Deleting your account removes all of it. See the privacy policy for details.
